So excited to see the Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora (ASWAD) program. My paper on Zora Neale Hurston’s time in Florida from December 1949 through the summer od 1950 will be read at 10:15am-12pm November 6 in Piedmont Room B, Williamsburg Lodge. Hurricane Dorian is reminding me of her surviving a 1935 hurricane while in the Bahamas. That experience inspired in part her 1937 bestselling novel Their Eyes Were Watching God.
I am looking 4 forward to meeting my fellow presenters. This will be my first time in Williamsburg since I spent part of a summer there in 2008.
