A semester long look at antebellum America with mapping Tuscaloosa and Alabama’s history in mind culminated this week. I just loved the rawness of the maps some of the students enrolled in my Antebellum America class offered today during their presentations. Above is one addressing violence. Despite the typos, there’s something very endearing here. It was made digitally and I’ve asked the student to clean it up. Way to go, Alex! And way to go, Class!

I will miss them and the students enrolled in my American Civilization Since 1865 class. Jared and Brittany in particular always made my day.

It’s been a rough week health-wise, but these young people make everything so much better!

And how about that win over Georgia? Roll Tide!
