Trailer for student music video released

As mentioned on last night’s The Nineteenth Century City course blog posting, the trailer for the “Druid City” music video as performed by Bible Study, a Tuscaloosa, Alabama, band, is now up on YouTube.

This video and accompanying short documentary unveils the culmination of the students learning about how city life emerges in the United States. For a second year, Tuscaloosa is in the starring role.

The video and doc will be presented 5:30 pm December 3 at Jemison Mansion, 1305 Greensboro Avenue, in Tuscaloosa.  The mansion and other local dwellings make appearances in the video and doc as does the students’ infectious engagement with the urban space. Through them, I am able to see progress on many fronts no matter our difficult and shared past in the South and beyond (does it sound like I’ve reached the Age of Jackson in my “American Civilization to 1865″ course?” That would be a “yes”). Stay tuned for more.
